This week I have been working on getting my craft room put together. Quite a massive feat. I have about 10 boxes of stuff that I have been acquiring for the last year that I have not been able to unpack until now. I have so much stuff, that card catalog really has come in handy to separate my ric rac, seam binding, sequins, zippers, glues, etc. The fabric alone has been crazy. I have more vintage fabric then I ever imagined. I can't wait to get it all organized, so I can finally start using my new sewing machine! Ginger just sat in her bed for a few hours while I worked.
I have been meaning to work on a few things, but one little gal has distracted me. We rescued her on Friday, and named her ginger. She is 11 years old, and a sweetie. We have fallen in love with her, we are so happy to have her around! Now a halloween costume for her...
Today I was on a run, and it was a beautiful day. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, and it was really sunny, which was nice after the freak snow last week. I was feeling great, I finally could run again after a month of being sick, and I was feeling all in all pretty swell. I was running and I ran by a beautiful monarch butterfly that was on the ground. I stopped, and actually touched it! It was huge. Then I did the dorkiest thing ever, I picked up the butterfly and threw it in the air. I know. But as I watched it flutter away, I admit it felt pretty great. Probably made my day. In a super dorky cheesy way.
After almost a month of getting over strep, a respiratory infection and then quite possibly the swine flu. I am finally better! It was all terrible. Though last week I got a lovely package from my twinner containing homemade Oregon marionberry jam and it made my day.
Yesterday we got a crazy storm here, and we got branches crashing all over the house, one busting through our deck and waking me up in the middle of the night. I think it's going to be a crazy winter!
